Supposed to Be

All that he’s supposed to be

Can hardly be obtained, you see

For all that he’s supposed to be

Is loyal, encouraging, living patiently

A man of strength, a man of faith

A man of wisdom, courage, and grace

A man of honor, a man of prayer

A man that’s kind, loving, and fair

He never gives up; he always endures

To share Christ with others – his goal to be sure

He gives out of love with a willing heart

His generous ways he could never depart

Now all that he’s supposed to be

Is hard to live out perfectly

But all that he’s supposed to be

Is what my father is to me.
