She Taught Me How May 9, 2010

She taught me how to tell the time
and how to read a book
She taught me how to make my bed
and how to clean and cook

She taught me how to bake a cake
and how to frost it, too
She taught me how to sit up straight
especially in a pew

She taught me how to part my hair
and how to put on hose
She taught me how to paint my nails
and how to paint my toes

But most of all she taught me how
to live with love and grace
She taught me how to emphasize
the beauty of my face

She taught me how to be a friend
and how to give and share
She taught me how to love my Lord
and how to trust His care

She taught me how to live my life
what more is there to say
She taught me how to be the lady
that others see today
